Topiramate

It is an anti epilepsy drug also known as anticonvulsant. Topiramate combined with another drugs by FDA most recently was approved for weight loss. So at the beginning it was used without label purpose while FDA approved it. At 2012 drugs combination with this medication was approved for lose weight.
This anticonvulsant drug was discovered in 1979. Founder of it was Bruce Eliot Maryanoff and Joseph F. Gardocki. That time they were working at McNeil Pharmaceutical. In the United States Topiramate was approved in 1996 by the Food and Drug administration. In Canada these kinds of drugs were approved in 2006. This drug has another name. It also called Topamax. Like i mention before it is anticonvulsant medicine. It is intended to treat peoples who suffer from epilepsy. In other words it is used to treat epilepsy. It can be used as for child as for adult. Also FDA approved this drug for preventing migraine. By psychiatrists this drug was used to treat bipolar disorder. But sometimes they use this drug to increase psychotropic or neutralize the weight which is gained from antidepressants. In 2006 by the Cochrane independent nonprofit organization was not recommended to use for healing bipolar illness with this drug from obesity. It happens due to insufficient amounts of data. However, in 2010 Cochrane Collaboration reviews find evidence that this antiepilepsy drug can treat symptoms of borderline personality disorder and instability of the mood. Also was done investigations for treating:
Addiction of methamphetamine.
Alcoholism.
Obesity.
Especially helps not to cause overeating.
But most of all this anticonvulsant drug is used for treating migraines because in the brain it affects blood vessels. This medication expands the blood vessels in the brain and so limits the increase in serotonin levels.

This product wasn’t approved by Food and Drug Administration that it could treat such of disorders. It wasn’t done any researches for that. It wasn’t clear whether the product is safe or harmful to health and does it effective to treat such of disorders. But researches were done for product Qsymia.
